Community Workbooks and Spreadsheets

A tier up in usability: free Excel workbooks maintained by the CMMC practitioner community — gap assessment spreadsheets with a row per control, built-in SPRS scoring math, inventory tabs, and sometimes SSP section outlines. The better ones are genuinely good, and for a contractor who lives in Excel they're a real option for reaching a first score.

Their limits show up predictably: no plain-English translation (you're still interpreting control language yourself), no evidence attached to claims, version chaos once two people edit it, and no path from "row says met" to the SSP paragraph that proves it.
